Richard is a super nice guy to do business with. Great quality work. We scheduled for him to come back following week after carpet cleaning to do repair an area that's needed fixing for a long time. He did that quite well, too.
The amazing thing is that he cleaned a couple of pet stains that my dog made during the week between appointments, and he did this absolutely free and cheerfully. He also gave me a complimentary pet odor service when he cleaned the carpets — normally an extra charge, but he did this for free too. Highly recommend.

I have tried others in San Diego, but Richard is the best. He has gotten deep down dirt the others left behind. You can pay less, but you will not find better carpet cleaning. He gladly volunteers more about carpet cleaning and fibers than you may want to know, and all that with a delightful English accent, and an old-world work ethic. Be careful, his upbeat attitude is infectious. Richard is like the caped carpet crusader, and soil must be banished!
This is my 5th cleaning with Richard and UK Carpet Cleaning. I first came across this amazing company with some water damage restoration a few years ago, and I have never used any other carpet cleaner since. I'll admit, I used to be the one that went with whoever had the cheapest price and a coupon, to only be disappointed. Never again!
Each time I am impressed with the service. He is always punctual, and takes the time to spot-treat my pet stains, and is very thorough with my high-traffic areas. With Richard being the owner, he is extremely knowledgeable in all things carpet. He also has a great cleaning solution for use between services. I always purchase 2 bottles, and end up calling him for more.
Richard is like the Wikipedia of carpet cleaning. Seriously!! The minute he walks into your house he knows the type of carpet you have, all about the fibers, padding, etc. If you have any stains, he immediately knows what caused them, how certain chemicals react on the carpet, and what to use to remove stains. He is very diligent when attempting to remove the most daunting of stains, and is quite successful in getting them out. He once cleaned an expensive area rug that I had spilled both wine and coffee on. In my wildest dreams, I never thought the stains would come out, but Richard worked his magic on them, and they are completely gone!!
As owner and operator of his own business, he takes great pride in his work. He is diligent, thorough, persistent, professional and reliable. He actually is passionate about his work!! I would highly recommend him to anyone who asks.

Richard really knows his carpets. We have used others, and they came in, blew through the house, and blew out again with marginal results. Richard comes in, gives you a thorough evaluation, and then explains exactly what you need to do. We recently had our 25+ year-old carpet and an area rug cleaned by him, and could not be happier with the result. The carpet is old and will need to be replaced soon, but we had guests coming and didn't have time to replace it. When Richard was done, it was perked up and looking respectable again.
As an added perk, he gave us some valuable tips on what to look for when shopping for the new carpet, which we can now do at our leisure thanks to the extra time Richard gave us with the old one.
Richard Midgley at UK CARPET CLEANING is a highly-skilled meticulous perfectionist. He did an excellent job installing 3000 square feet of sports-court flooring at our SMASH badminton club and training facility. Our objective was to provide a top-of-the-line training surface, suitable for our head badminton coach Tony Gunawan — former Olympic gold medalist and 2x World Championship gold medalist — at our San Diego based GBA training facility. We are extremely pleased to say, with the help and expertise provided by Richard at UK CARPET CLEANING, we have now achieved our goal. We highly recommend Richard.
We were very pleased to find Richard at UK Carpet Cleaning from Yelp! The contractor used adhesive plastic covering to protect our new carpet, but when they removed the plastic covering, it left some adhesive residue on our carpet up the stairs and throughout our home.
Richard/ UK Carpet Cleaning came to assess the situation, and was very knowledgeable and honest about what he can do for us. We hired him, and we're very pleased with the outcome. Richard did the cleaning himself and was successful in removing the adhesive residue from our carpet. Our contractor will be returning to do more work at our home. We will not hesitate to have Richard/ UK Carpet Cleaning return to clean our carpet again after construction has been completed. The excellent reviews he's gotten on Yelp are well-deserved.
