"free estimate"?

Carpet Cleaning is the only labor-intensive business that I know of that will typically give a price over the phone to do the job without even seeing the scope of the work.

Most carpet cleaning companies are one-size-fits-all. They charge by the room. These companies sell on PRICE, and some even sell on dry-time. If there are particularly challenging stains, their usual excuses for a lousy job go something like this — The stain is permanent. This is the best cleaning that can be done. It was poor quality to begin with. You need new carpeting. etc.

Every Client's Situation is Unique

Client 1 has fairly new carpet and lives alone.

Client 2 may live in an identical house, but has older carpet, a family with 4 kids and 2 dogs, and hosts a day-care center.

Both value a clean and healthy environment.

But a typical carpet cleaner will allocate the same amount of time and the same processes to these very different situations. At most, they may apply a one- or two-step cleaning process.

The inspection time varies with every job, but it typically takes about 30 minutes.
